Hey everyone!

Its Michael here, your favorite Aussie Academy Is… guitarist!, we have some very important information to announce!

The rumors are true! We will be heading (home) to Australia in august with our good friends Anberlin! We spent warped tour with them last year and had a great time so we thought, let’s do it all again in Australia! A few people have already asked if we will finally cover khe sanh (its a Aussie classic by a band called cold chisel) ill see what we can do…

On another note, check out theacademyis.com we have a new TAITV up there, The Butcher is rowing a boat… While talking with a pretend accent… Well you gotta see it!

Also check out our dates for these Six flags and MTV shows, they are going to be great, we hope to conquer ever ride at every Six Flags we play…

I’m sitting here at one of my favorite cafe’s with some friends enjoying the Californian sunshine!… Carden and I fly out for Chicago tomorrow for a college show in Elmhurst, IL and for some creating of new songs, we are all pretty excited, we have been using the internet to our advantage over the past few weeks to trade songs.

So our exciting news is that we have a bunch of shows in July with our friends Gym class Heroes, Boys Like Girls and The Veronicas… They are Australian… Like me, its always nice to hear a good Aussie accent and reminisce about neighbors (the TV show), vegemite and Cold Chisel (aussie band). Sorry I’m off track! Anyways, come out and see us! It will be fun! Some of the shows are up for pre-sale if you are a member of SLH – www.santislittlehelpers.com

Sisky is in Italy right now, he is starting to bend his finger now…for those of you who don’t know, he busted his right pointer finger on some glass… Poor guy… But he is living it up enjoying the life!

Hey everyone,

I have some exciting news for you… a special TAI TV will be up this Sunday at 8pm, make sure you check it out on our website “theacademyis.com” it has some footage from one of our new favorite places… Chile. I don’t want to give it all away but we had a great time, the weather there was just like Sydney.

I’m looking forward to the Give It A Name festival in the UK, as well as Groezrock in Belgium, which the Get Up Kids are apparently playing which is pretty sweet if you ask me!

We also updated our myspace a few days ago with 2 new songs, “The Test” and “His Girl Friday” I saw the DVD cover to the movie called “His Girl Friday” yesterday in a store.. I should have bought it… It’s a 60s film I think, it also has nothing to do with our song… Except the title! Anyways, check those songs out if you haven’t already… Do so!

Gday everyone!… I’m writing to you from Sydney where it’s about 42 degrees… I live a little more inland around Castle Hill where it is way hotter because we aren’t really near the water, I think its over 100 here in American lingo… its actually very sad because a lot of bushfires have broken out, so far quite a few deaths have happened in Australia because of the bushfires, it sucks.. So let’s pray for the rain eh??

It’s been great being back in Sydney; I’ve been watching the cricket which is very frustrating because we are not so good anymore! I’ve been hanging out with lots of old friends who I don’t see much these days since I have been stateside so much. I have been going to lots of shows: I saw Glen Hansard (the guy from the movie “Once”) at the opera house which was fantastic; he is from a band called “The Frames” who was his backing band. I saw them play about 6 years ago. Its sweet that he won an Oscar! I also saw Ryan Adams at the Enmore Theater last week, it was such a great show, his voice was incredible, he played all my favorite songs. A few days later I went back to the Enmore to see Jeff Beck, who is a guitar legend, also a great show… I’m seeing “The Stray Cats” at the Enmore in about 2 weeks.. I cant wait.. man… I should just live at the Enmore!.. Although I wish they had better air conditioning! Ha!

I haven’t seen the rest of the guys in quite a few weeks now, its a weird feeling.. I’ll be heading back to the states pretty soon to start out our 2009 Academy is… year! Exciting times!

Anyways, the cricket is about to start… it’s against New Zealand… can you believe we have already lost 2 games against them?? C’mon Aussies! Get it together!

Check this out!… so crazy!.. my friend just sent me this youtube link for Rumored Nights, its his favorite song off “Fast Times” the crazy thing is, we all love this movie but it was one of the few high school videos we didn’t watch while recording the new album…
